A Brief History
The Sand Frame is one of magic's classic closeup/parlor pieces. It was invented by magician Eugene Bosco, sometime in the mid-1800s before his death in 1891. It has references in More Magic by Professor Hoffman, which was printed in 1889. Hoffman noted that this piece of apparatus seemed to have virtually disappeared, but was revived to a large fanfare. He also stated, that in time it's popularity may die down in years to come. However, we at the Trickery feel that this extraordinary piece of magical apparatus and creativity should go unnoticed no longer!

Presentation
A card is selected by a spectator and then the index corner is torn off to keep as a receipt. You then show an empty picture frame, which could be hanging on the wall, or on its stand (which is provided). You then take the frame and drape a cloth or a silk over the front of it. At this point, you could even hand the frame over to the spectator. The selected card, with the corner torn off, is then vanished by whichever method you prefer or even destroyed. A magical gesture over the frame is made and the spectator is asked to whisk away the silk and the selected card has appeared inside of the empty frame. It is then taken out by the spectator and found to match the "receipt" the spectator tore off just moments before!

Our Sand Frames are made from Poplar woods and stained to a fantastic Cherry finish. The Regulation Sand Frames are can be used in conjunction with Poker Sized Playing Cards.

Also included in the instructions are several other ideas for your Sand Frame in addition to the presentation mentioned above.
