Imagine holding a deck of cards. You are randomly cutting the deck as you speak to your audience. Invite an audience member to shout out the name of a card...any card. The moment they say the name, you cut to that exact card! Another person is asked to call out a card. No sooner do they name a card, it is the card you cut to without hesitation of any kind. Any number of people can call out cards and you instantly cut the deck to their card! For card workers, this is a true time-tested reputation maker. This will showcase your skill at pasteboard manipulation. You will gain the respect of your audience with what appears like masterful card control. And the beauty of it...it's all in the deck! Instanto was invented and first marketed by Billy O'Connor. The effect and audience reaction was so strong that Richard Cardini adapted the routine and made it a showpiece in his performances. Decades later, Doug Edwards recreated this stunning effect. Doug hand-makes each deck himself. The precision gaffing is accomplished using the original cutting machine trimmers used and owned by Dick Cardini. Sketches of these trimmers are shown on the graphic for this effect. While other versions of this wonderful piece of mastery existed over the years, you will find none better crafted than Doug Edward's Instanto Deck. Included are simple to follow instructions along with a URL, user name, and password to a special page that will allow you to download the visual explanation. Sometimes a video is worth 1000 words! It is formatted in several file types to play across all platforms. Pick what works best for you! Side Note from The Trickery...
We've been overwhelmed with the response to the Instanto Deck! Many of you have asked how difficult it is to accomplish. In reality, it's not very difficult. If you've played with Svengali decks, Stripper decks or corner short cards...it's basically a combination of them all. The effect is something you will NOT pick up the same day you receive it. To understand the feel and know where or how to cut to a card will take a few days to master. The speed at which Doug so effortlessly performs this will take a few weeks of constant practice. This is one that I am working on myself. For those of you who appreciate strong reactions you will know it is definately worth the little work. The visual explanation will help you to understand the handling even more. A link with user name and password are included in the instructions.
