| A spectator is asked to choose a card, from a spread of 52. They choose one, commit it to memory and then place it back into the deck. The deck is then shuffled and thoroughly mixed by the spectator. The cards are genuinely mixed at this point. You explain that this trick may or may not work, because you were up real late the night before watching a movie. You point to a DVD case on a nearby shelf. In fact, the magician says, "Come to think of it, the cover has a picture of a playing card on it, it'd be pretty strange if it matched your chosen card?" The audience aggrees and when the case is turned over, it reveals a picture of all 52 cards arranged by suits! "See I wasn't wrong" exclaimed the magician. "However, I wasn't exact enough, I meant to say inside the case" The spectator opens the case, and finds a jumbo card, with the name of their chosen card written on the back. Predictions don't come much cleaner than this. Everything is examinable, great gag effect!
